5th grade PLC info

hey everyone! The 5th grade is planning a field trip, potentially Tuesday Nov. 23rd, to Wrightsville Beach as part of the landform unit they are studying in Science. In math they are working on rounding, estimating and making/reading graphs. In reading they are focusing on folktales...Mrs. Leary shared an awesome website, tumblebooks.com. This website allows students to read along and listen to stories on the internet. They have a variety of leveled books from ones that are primary and would be great to use with my students, all the way to chapter books that are appropriate for 5th graders. Claire McFall is organizing an award ceremony for the 4th/5th graders to acknowledge good grades, good behavior, etc... the 5th grade ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday Nov. 16th at 1:40 (students will miss itinerants that day).

Hope you all have a great day!
Emily

Grade Level PLC's

Hi there! Well, we have survived another week. Just wanted to remind you that you will be attached to a grade level for PLC's. We will attend their PLC meetings the first Wednesday of the month and we will meet as an EC Department the third Wednesday of the month. Our SIT representative is Courtney Gilmore and as a member of the leadership team I will also sit as a non-voting member on the team. Faculty meetings will be the fourth Wednesday of the month. So it looks like we are going to be busy on Wednesday afternoons. Please try not to schedule anything on Wednesday for this reason. I hope everyone enjoys their long holiday weekend!!
